Yea, I know the feeling. Freelance. That's what I've resorted to - I work for a company in Cleveland, in the Caxton building, that can't pay me because the they're "incapable of running a company". Such is life. I enjoy working for myself over being led by the idiot's brigade!

By the way - I love this site, but could you fix the user login box on the right for us non IE users?? Firebird renders it a bit funky. Non the less, I was able to create my account! :) I have feeling this site could explode.

My husband was out of work for four years. He was a computer professional, his latest job being a project manager...the first jobs to disappear with the tanking of the economy. Since his tech skills were not specialized, and his previous salary much higher, finding a lower paying job working with computers was impossible (overqualified or they didn't trust he'd stick around). He was re-organized out of several positions before his last job was cut due to the company going under.

His best friend was also working for the company that went under, and has had three jobs since then, all of which he lost due to cutbacks. With those kinds of odds, Gordon didn't have the motivation to get back into computers. But what to do? He lacked the motivation to start his own business, although he had several good ideas.

He's found his niche. He took a chance and went to Don Massey Cadillac (the largest dealership in the world) which is a 5 minute drive from our house. He noted their poorly designed website and suggested he could do better. They were in need of an internet sales manager. So now he's selling cadillacs (new and used) via the internet and is happier than he's been in many years. The job screams motivation, allows him to interact with many kinds of people. No down time, and the more motivated one is, the more money one can make. It's a total career change for him, and one he feels he can be successful in.

So..as you say, it's the beginning of a new adventure. At least you are young and motivated. This could provide the opportunity of a lifetime.
