More digital sillynonsense from Jeff Putz

It's a silly crush, or crushes I guess, but I love the women of TechTV. Many of them are not only cuties, but they're smart geeks too, which is hotter than sheer physical attraction alone.

My favorite is Morgan Webb, who hosts X-Play. Other favorites include Sarah Lane on The Screensavers and Cat Schwarz on Call for Help. I also really dig Jessica Corbin on TSS, though she's less geek and more uber-TV producer. Gotta send props to Laura Swisher on Unscrewed too.

It's a great world where geeky girls can be popular and on your hot list.

Morgan Webb's had my heart since day one and I'm not afraid to admit it. Sarah's my second favorite, with Jessica in third. I used to have a huge thing for Sumi Das, but she seems to have slowly slid off-camera (she does still work there, right?). It's a shame I don't get TechTV at school, because I really miss watching it. I remember the early days of ZDTV where Charter would only show it after midnight on Channel 3 and my friends and I would all sit on IRC waiting for the switch to occur. Geeky, but good times.

I bet that Sumi left. Not to slam the network, but she was good enough to go elsewhere and get paid more. She was less geek and more general purpose TV personality. Of course, you never can tell what's going to happen. I mean, I was surprised to see Erica Hill go to CNN.

I'm glad that they finally let Morgan do her thing on X-Play. At first she was too much of a sidekick, and that sucked. Just before she left TSS, she was easily kicking ass and taking names as the best person on that show. She's coming into her own now on XP.

And what about the Gnome? Whatever happened to him? I know he's no hot chick, but since we were talking about people leaving...

He probably got too excited and exploded.

Actually, I remember reading his blog around that time, and it would appear that he didn't leave on great terms.

I miss Scott Harriot of the old Internet Tonight fame. He had good humor about him. I know he pops up here and there, but if I was techTV I would put him on Unscrewed with Martin and watch the sparks fly.

Speaking of Internet Tonight, I always thought that was a great idea for a show, but the execution was poorly done. They should have devoted more time to the off the wall places on the net.

Returning to the main subject of babes...I concur with the majority here in saying that Morgan Webb is god's gift to television. Cat definitely has her moments, and I'm warming to Jessica Corbin.

Freewheelinjoe and I have been known to quote some surf guru on occassion as well.
