The first UPS I ever bought was in 2001 when I was hosting my Web sites from home. That way if the power went out, no problem, sites stayed online. Indeed the following spring, I had a blackout that lasted an hour and the UPS held up no problem.

But since then I've had three of them, and at least two I can tell you are crap. One I've thrown away, and the other one, about nine months old, is supposed to power my Mac Pro. Well, the power just went out, and it lasted all of five fucking minutes. That's not the 30 minutes it promised. I'm particularly annoyed because a backup to S3, in the amount of 13 gigs, got interrupted, and since I don't have the super fantastic version of JungleDisk, that means it failed.

The other UPS that I have no opinion on powers my router and cable modem, and I have no idea how long it will last. It's almost three years old.

No... I don't host the sites here anymore. If you couldn't login, that was something with your ISP. The server is in Texas.

How fast are your JungleDisk uploads?

Not fast at all. Averaging around 500k up. This time, it didn't appear to be a total fail. It didn't rollback what already uploaded like it did last time. That's a relief. I thought resuming interrupted downloads was something it only did with the "plus" version, but I fortunately seem to be wrong.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one with disappointing speeds. I stopped trying after a week and need to try again soon.

I can't really blame anyone but Time-Warner. It's certainly not an issue of Amazon not having enough bandwidth!

Well I have paid for the super-duper-JungleDisk was under the impression I was uploading to a queue on their end. All I remember is that I tried for days and it seemed to not remember what it had uploaded. I was trying to update a vault directly from Aperture. Is that what you are doing?

I also learned that Transmit does S3 access.

No, I'm just uploading the files as they're added to a folder. I'm also using referenced files, not the library.
