"I Believe in Harvey Dent."

Yesterday one of the chillers at the hospital went down rendering most of the place an oven for a good part of the day. It was miserable for most of the day even with the portable air conditioner we have in the department. The people I felt most sorry for were the patients because be extremely hot on top of being sick would not be fun at all. Thankfully they got the system back up and running in the afternoon. Temperatures and humidity levels started coming down by the time I was about to leave.

Conditions were a little better today, although our current environment doesn't have the best HVAC system to begin with. Little to no updates to the ventilation system in the pharmacy since the hospital was built has left us with a work environment that is hot pretty much all year round. It is nice in the winter, but not in the summer. All of the fans in the world cannot not even help tackle the problem. Add to that the fact that we can't just leave the door to the hallway open because of all the medication in the department means trying to find as many things to do outside of the department as possible. Luckily there are only a few weeks left in the dungeon/cave/broom closet until we move into our new place complete with fully functioning and more than adequate HVAC system. I for cannot wait.
